WARN Industries Inc. informed Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. (“BRP“), that the WARN* winches equipped with a "8 post contactor" installed on certain 2004 and 2005 XT Bombardier ATV models or sold as accessories may be defective and that they were conducting a safety recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, as specified in the attached Safety Recall Letter.
In cooperation with Transport Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. (“BRP“) are conducting a voluntary safety recall of all 2006 and of some 2007 Outlander 650 and 800 ATV models.
The following product safety recall for the model year 2006 Bombardier Outlander 800 H.O. XT ATVs was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Customers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. Although there have been no reported incidents of injury or property damage, in some cases the drive pulley inner flange could break resulting in the broken flange fragments becoming a projectile. This situation could cause serious injuries or death to the rider or bystanders. The model numbers affected are 2J6A and 2J6E. The model numbers are located in the serial number on the identification sticker under the seat.
Model year 2004 and 2005 Bombardier DS650 ATVs are part of this recall. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Some Bombardier 2003 Traxter® MAX; 2004 Traxter, Traxter MAX, QuestT and Quest MAX; 2005 Traxter 5SP, 5SP MAX, CVT and CVT MAX vehicles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
