Re: Speed Limiter Mode Malfunction – Safety Risk Due to Unexpected Deactivation
Dear Can-Am® Vehicle Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Act. BRP has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in the following vehicles. As a result, BRP is conducting a safety recall.
Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.
What is the hazard?
When a speed limit is set using the Speed Limiter Control, certain throttle lever sequences may override it, causing unexpected speed and acceleration, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
Which models and model years (MY) are involved?
- MY25 and MY26 Outlander Pro Packages equipped with Speed Limiter Control
- MY23 and MY24 equipped with Speed Limiter Control that received an Engine Control Module (ECM) software update at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026.
What will BRP do?
BRP will perform this recall at no charge to you.
The vehicle’s software needs to be updated at the dealership. The procedure will take less than an hour.
What should YOU do?
Immediately stop using the Speed Limiter Mode and schedule an appointment with any authorized BRP Can-Am® dealer to have the safety recall repair performed on your unit. To find a dealer, visit https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/us/en/find-a-dealer.html#/search.

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available.
If you know the current owner or operator, please forward this letter to them.
